CHESTNUT HILL — It appears as though another elite goaltender is coming to Chestnut Hill. Thacher Demko committed to Boston College today and will join a very talented 2013 recruiting class. He made the announcement via Twitter today:

Officially committed to play hockey for Boston College in 2013. Thank you to all my family and friends who have supported me! #Eagles

Demko played for the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League for 15 games and also spent time with the USA Hockey National Development Program Under-18 Team. In that time, he started 11 of games and posted a 9-3 record with a 2.87 goals against average and one shutout. He sported an 11-3 record with a 2.31 GAA as he appeared in 19 games between the pipes for the U-18 team. According to SB Nation’s Chris Dilks, Demko listed Northeastern, UMass, Cornell, Western Michigan, and Denver as the original schools interested.

With fellow goalie prospect Chris Birdsall expected to join the Eagles for the 2015-16 season, Boston College may have one of the elite goaltending combinations very shortly. Eagles fans are very excited for Demko’s arrival and he should be a tremendous asset when he comes to The Heights.
